Lessons
At Durham’s farm we offer riding lessons for all levels.  Private (on your own) semi-private (2 people) and group lessons (3-6 people) are all available and you can do 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour sessions. All lessons are with understanding qualified & experienced instructors and as well as basic riding skills more specific lessons in particular disciplines are available in show jumping, flatwork or cross-country.  We take great care to tailor your lessons to suit your particular needs. Riding hats & body protectors are available for you to use free of charge.

Hacking
As well as riding lessons we like to make other activities available.  Many of our clients enjoy hacking out and you can go privately, semi-privately or in groups for 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours.  Again we organise hacking around your needs and you can just walk, walk and trot, walk trot and canter or do faster rides. We have many off-road bridleways we can follow all of which have beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

Picnic Rides
These are rides of approximately 2.5 hours in duration with a break halfway for lunch.  They are more specifically designed for groups of children who we ask to bring their own picnic lunch, which they eat, in the woods whilst their horses can graze amongst the trees. Again the children can choose whether or not to canter and there’s no pressure on anyone.

Pub Rides
The pub rides are designed more for adults.  They are evening rides leaving the yard at approximately 5 pm and returning at around 9 pm.  We stop off at a local pub just over half-way round and leave the horses to graze in a nearby field.  Food and drink is provided and we’re normally in groups of about 8 people.  There is the opportunity for a lot of cantering but those who rather not can take things at a slower pace.

Fun Rides
Fun rides are held locally about once a month throughout the year.  These are rides of approximately 12 miles in length with up to 60 optional jumps ranging in height from 1 foot to 2 foot 9 inches.  They are open to both adults and children – all we ask is that your are comfortable cantering out on a hack before you go.  You can jump as much or as little as you like.  We tend to leave the yard mid-morning with the horses and return late afternoon about 4 pm.  A photographer is there on the day and you get the option of purchasing a photo of yourself jumping.

Children’s Parties
We will run children's parties according to your needs.  They are usually for about 2 hours and we provide prizes, a birthday cake, a treasure hunt if you want one and of course games and races on horseback.

Pony Days / Afternoons
We run these during school holidays and the emphasis is on stable management as well as riding.  The children will be given a pony to care for that day and will learn to muck out, groom, tack-up and clean tack.  More advanced children will be shown other skills such as plaiting.  Everyone will get a riding lesson during the day and often they get to hack out as well if capable.

Horse / Pony Hire and Loans
Our ponies and horses are available to hire for various activities such as local shows, cross-country schooling clinics, competitions, pony club rallies, pony club camp, hunting etc. We will also offer some of our ponies and horses for loan, meaning that horse is “yours” on lease for an agreed period of time.
Liveries
Liveries are taken on a full, part or working basis.
