All of our instructors are experienced, qualified and friendly. They also like to ensure you are progressing at a reasonable pace and will not attempt to hold you back. They will remember you, who you have ridden and what level you are at, each time you come back, so you can get the most out of your experience.
Lessons and hacking are available all year round. Lessons can be taken as private, semi private or in groups (3-6 people). We are happy to teach children from the age of 3+. We have a weight limit of 15 stones max. Weekends can be particularly busy and we advise to book in advance to avoid dissapointment. Our diary is flexible and we will endeavour to book you in at a time that is most convenient for you. Evening lessons are available throughout the summer months. We reserve the right to postpone lessons in times of bad weather and ask that you give 24 hours notice prior to any cancellation.
Please note all new riders will be asked to complete a rider registration form. See our price list for more details on lessons. Bookings and enquiries can be made over the phone using the contact numbers on the left.
We are lucky enough to be based in one of the most beautiful areas of The Cotswolds and as such the hacking out is outstanding. Our experienced team regularly ride out on planned routes and are happy to escort you along one of the many wonderful bridleways or woodland trails. Hacks can be taken privately or in groups of up to 4 and for an hour or two dependent on your experience.
Hacking out (trekking) is priced seperately for children and adults, unlike lessons, where as everyone receives the same level of tuition based on their ability. We offer reduced hacking out prices for children 16 years and under, although these children will need closer supervision, we like to make this option more affordable for parents. Please note: although our horses and ponies are reliable and safe, if you are a beginner, we will need to assess your ability before we send you out into the wilderness.
Please contact us to discuss how we can make this option available for you!

Pony days are a great way to get your kids active outdoors. They will spend the day learning how to care for a pony as if it were their own. As well as learning to ride, children will be taught how to love and respect their pony too. During the day your child will take part in activities such as riding lessons, stable management, tack cleaning and grooming. We often have large groups of children in attendance at the stables who love being outdoors with the ponies and making new friends. We offer two time options, the morning lasts from 10am-1pm and is more suitable for younger children. The day lasts from 10am-4pm and we ask that you supply your own packed lunch. Please see our price list for more details.
Pat and her team are dedicated to safeguarding and protecting children at the farm. As such, our senior staff members are all DBS checked, appropriately trained and hold current First Aid certificates, so you can feel safe leaving your children in our care.
Our diary is flexible, so if you have a morning or day you'd like to free up during the holidays or weekends get in touch. We'll keep the kids happy for you!
This is such a wonderful way of spending quality time with your toddler. Mums/Dads & Tots are kitted up and taught in the school together for 20 minutes. Mums/Dads are then left to work on their skills for a further 30 minutes whilst we entertain the tots with toys and games in the log cabin. They can also have contact time with the ponies giving them lots of cuddles and learning how to groom them. This option is great value for money and is a fab way of keeping fit for mums with riding lessons and childcare for an amazing price. We run Mums/Dads & Tots every Wednesday and Friday morning from 10am to 12pm.
"The experience that this class offers the children is second to none. The respect that the children are learning for ponies is so valuable and the level of schooling that the parents get is completely determined on their own abilities and goals. To be able to have some time for ourselves whilst the children are in an outdoor environment learning skills and having a great time with tremendously caring staff is an unbelieveable privilege. Thank you Pat and your team for providing such a fabulous class!"

The horses and ponies of Durhams Farm are our pride and joy. We have an impressive portfolio of steeds available to take on loan and will create the perfect environment for you to create special bonds with them. Whether you want to help your child fulfil their dream of having a pony or simply want to pursue your own dream of owning a horse we want to hear from you.
Loans work on a six month basis where the cost to you would be the livery per month plus shoeing. We can explain this thoroughly either over the phone or in person where we can discuss which horse or pony would be the right fit for you. Theres a great atmosphere in our yard and there are always people around to chat to or help you with anything you need. Children and adults who take a pony or horse on loan are free to love and care for them as often as they can. For the rest of the time we take care of them for you. Children can gain membership to our Pony Club and get involved with all activities such as; summer camps, shows, fun rides and events. The riding school is bustling with activity at the weekends with most of our Pony Club members in attendance, which creates fantastic opportunities to make new friends. Soon we will be establishing an adult riding club and we already have a fantastic group of ladies and gents who enjoy riding out together regularly.
Please contact us if you would like to discuss this option further!
Something for the adults! What better way to travel to the local pub than on horseback. The experience can last for approx 3 1/2 - 4 hours and involves a ride to and back from the pub with a scrummy lunch in between. We dine at either The Greedy Goose or The Fox Inn at Broadwell dependant on whether the 2 hour or 3 hour hack is more suitable for your ability. Unfortunately, we cannot take complete beginners
We hire out our cross country course from May until October depending on ground conditions and for the cost of £15 per horse. We have around 30 well built and inviting xc course fences ranging from 1'9 to 3ft. It's an excellent course for children or novice horses and ponies with a variety of both challenging and straight forward fences. Spanning 3 fields and in total around 40 acres including jumps in and out of our woodland area. Please contact us for more information.
Start the day as you mean to go on...with a glass of Port. Such a fantastic way to get your team out of the office and into the great outdoors. The day will run from 10am to 4pm, beginning with riding lessons for all, to make sure everyone is comfortable with the horses. Your team will be free to take part in general activities on the farm such as grooming and mucking out. You will find comfort in our log cabin where we will serve a fabulous, home cooked, two course lunch. The afternoon will involve some hilarious team games and gymkhana races. These clubs will be run in conjunction with The Pony Club and during term time only. Additional Pony Club workshops will be held each week on a Tuesday and Wednesday from 4.15pm - 6pm. You will need to secure your spot on either one of those days as spaces are limited. The workshops focus on working towards achievement badges and tests designed to teach members new skills. Unlike the weekend workshop, the after school club will include a riding lesson significantly improving members riding skills and lowering the cost of tuition for parents. For more information on cost check out our page on The Pony Club.
We will be running 20 minute riding lessons, for £10 each, on the last Saturday of every month from 2.15pm - 3.15pm. These taster sessions will give you or your child the opportunity to see if you or they would really like to give horse riding a go. These sessions will get booked up fast so make sure you call us to book your space as soon as possible.
